Why two sofas are not the same price
We do not publish a price list, because the same sofa in two flats is not the same job: one is on the ground floor with parking at the door, the other on the fourth floor with no lift, two old stains and a dog.
What changes the price you can judge yourself, before you send an enquiry.
Material and soiling
A dense microfibre washes in fewer passes than a loose chenille or a pale cotton that also needs more rinsing. Leather and delicate materials take a different approach, which we agree before quoting.
A sofa washed before the season with no visible marks and a sofa with stains that have gone into the filling are not the same number of passes or the same amount of product. That is why a photograph in the enquiry is worth more than a description.
Access and stairs
In the old town and on the steep streets above it the equipment is carried up by hand and the van stays some way off. That time goes into the price just as the washing does; a ground floor with parking at the door is a different job.
Several pieces in one visit
Two sofas and a rug in the same flat are one visit, one machine set-up and one clear-up. The same pieces over three visits are three. So list everything that might need cleaning in the enquiry, including what you are unsure about.
The size of the property
For an apartment, villa or hotel the price follows the number of units, the scope per unit and how many methods are combined. For a property like that we come and look at the space first, because the scope cannot be read from a description.
What does not change the price
An enquiry. Sending a photograph and a description commits you to nothing; if the quote does not suit, that is where it ends.
What to send
- Furniture: how many pieces, what kind, and the material if you know it.
- Mattresses: how many, and what size.
- Carpets: the rough area, or how many and roughly how big.
- A whole apartment or villa: how many rooms, how many units, and when it needs doing.
- Exterior surfaces: the rough area and the type of surface.
- Floor, lift and parking.
- For anything: a photograph in daylight.
